We begin with a piece of research to immerse into the apparel industry, and specifically into the design, sales and procurement of the wholesale apparel industry, and identified key pain points in the system to address.
Once we understand the broad systemic view, we hone in on unique areas for opportunity, and dive deeper into them to better understand the stakeholders and key needs within each area. We also look at the most compelling business opportunities to solve for, and prioritise them based on a set of mutually agreed upon criteria.
We look at the driving forces of the industry over time, the key influencing factors, the adoption rates, and driving attributes of the mindsets within our areas of opportunity.
With the key challenge area, audience, and motivating factors identified, we ideate on potential experience concepts that help to address key needs and potential gains. We evaluate, refine, and build a technical architecture and design system that targets these factors. We also test early and often to optimise along the development process in an efficient and lean way.
As we are testing and learning with our target audiences and stakeholders, we are building and refining a design system and interface that is accessible, responsive and meets the needs of our users. We develop and launch an MVP, and in parallel, we capture feedback and build a feature backlog based on a mutually agreed upon roadmap and implementation plan.
