First, we start by understanding the challenge we are solving for and the landscape in which the challenge exists. From there, we map all of the stakeholders and speak to as many of them as we can. We start from the business, and move into the industry, the audience, the regulatory, the consumer, etc. We get deep into the heart of all actors and their motivations and behaviors.
From there, we work to define who the audience is for the key challenge area we are trying to solve. We explore the key mindsets and how they differ and the tensions between them. We explore their unmet needs and pain points.
All of this understanding helps us to define a design system and brand experience that speaks to all stakeholders and sets the position we are seeking to take in the brand.
We translate all of these components into the user experience for all touch points for the brand. Here you see schematics for the interaction on the key digital touchpoint, a website. We use wherever possible components like Material to optimize tested and true user interface components and create speed to delivery.
Once the technical requirements are understood, the user experience and interface defined, we apply the design system to the interface and work with the development team to implement and launch the design. We develop a roadmap and backlog for future components and work with DevOps to define the design efforts and deliver design assets.
